☀️ 2026 Player Guidelines – we want to ensure West Meade’s open play, clinics and socials remain the best in town. Please review these reminders to help keep our courts safe, organized fun & healthy.
🅿️ Important Parking Reminder
- Please park in the spots next to the pavilion (past the yellow “Pickleball Parking Only” line) or on the lower tennis court at the other lower entrance. Our pros will be busy on the courts, so we truly appreciate you helping us manage this and being great neighbors
💧 Hydration & Water Station
- Refill, Don’t Just Fill: Please arrive with a full water bottle. Our on-court filtered stations are “Refill Stations” to ensure we have enough ice and water for everyone during peak heat.
- Court Surfaces: To protect the court finish, no food or beverages (other than water or sports drinks) are allowed on the courts.
🎾 Court Safety & Equipment
- Respect the Equipment: Please do not lean on the nets or stomp on pickleballs. The nets are professional-grade but delicate—as the saying goes, “if you break it, you bought it!”
- Chairs & Seating: If you need to move the plastic Adirondack chairs, please pick them up rather than dragging them across the court surface to avoid scuffing the finish.
- Furniture Etiquette: If you are damp from a match, please use the non-upholstered seating in the pavilion to keep our upholstered furniture fresh and dry.
- Clear Pathways: Keep balls, bags, and personal belongings away from the divider nets. Tripping hazards are a major safety risk during fast-paced play.
- “Ball On Court!”: If a ball rolls onto an adjacent court, stop play immediately. Never chase a ball into another active court’s field of play.
🔄 Open Play & Rotations
- Prompt Arrivals: Open play works best when everyone is ready at the scheduled start time.
- IMPORTANT | Late Arrivals & Court Placement: If you arrive late, our Pros will do their best to move you up to your appropriate skill-level court as openings allow. Please note that this process takes time. If you are temporarily placed on a court with newer players due to a late arrival, please remain patient and respectful and do not hit aggressively toward newer players—court placement delays are the natural result of arriving after rotations have begun.
- Early Departures: If leaving early, notify the Pro at least one game in advance so they can adjust the rotations.
- Pod Rotations: Please wait to rotate until all courts in your playing pod have finished.
- Rally Scoring: If your court is the last one playing in a pod, the Pro may transition your game to rally scoring to keep the event on schedule.
🔄 Important Courtesy Reminders – PLEASE READ
- IMPORTANT | Zero Tolerance for Aggressive Play Against Newer Players: If you are paired on a court with players below your skill level, hitting excessively hard or deliberately “body-bagging” newer players is strictly unacceptable. We want all players to feel comfortable, enjoy their time, and return to the club. Our Pros are actively monitoring the courts; violating this courtesy rule will result in a warning and potential suspension from open play. Remember, everyone was a beginner once!
- IMPORTANT | Do Not Target the Weaker Player: Repetitively targeting the weaker player across the net to secure a win is poor sportsmanship and won’t improve your skills. While it might temporarily bump you up a court, it reduces the quality of play for everyone. To truly elevate your game and help build our community, challenge the stronger player. Our Pros will step in and address players who consistently freeze out opponents.
🌡️ Summer Health & Safety
- Proper Footwear: Please wear court-specific shoes. Running shoes lack lateral support and can lead to ankle injuries or scuff the court surface.
- Yes – Shirts are required. Men can certainly wear tank-tops because it get hot in TN. But shirts are required
- Listen to Your Body: High heat is serious. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, take a break in the shade immediately.
🐕 Pet Policy – No Paws on Property: We love our furry friends, but dogs are not allowed on the property (with the exception of our resident mascot, Bandit!).
Thank you for helping us keep our club the best place to play!
