The basics
WHAT IS DUPR, EXACTLY?
DUPR — Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating — is the rating system the whole sport has settled on, from rec players to the pro tour. It puts every player on one scale from 2.000 to 8.000, calculated from the actual scores of the matches you play.
That last part is what makes it different. A self-rating is a guess. A club rating stops at the club gate. A DUPR rating is arithmetic on real results against real opponents — which means a 3.5 here means the same thing as a 3.5 in Dallas or Delray Beach. It updates after every logged match, it accounts for who you played and how close the games were, and it carries a reliability score that climbs as you log more matches.
Practically, it does two things for you. It gets you into events and groups that match your actual level, so you stop playing blowouts in either direction. And it gives you an honest number to move — the most satisfying progress bar in the sport.

There's a myth that DUPR is for tournament players. It isn't. It's for anyone who's curious where they actually stand — and who's tired of "what level are you?" being answered with a shrug.
The league itself needs an active DUPR rating — that's what keeps every pod balanced from the first game. If you're not rated yet, create your free account and get a few DUPR-submitted matches on your record; you'll be ready for the next season.
If you can serve, keep score, and sustain a rally, you're ready. If you're not there yet, that's genuinely fine — start in open play or a clinic and work up to it.

You don't get dropped in with players miles above you. Your DUPR rating seeds you into a pod at your level, and the ladder moves you up or down week to week from there. Everyone ends up playing people who make them work without making them miserable.

The ladder league is the one format we run where matches are logged to DUPR on your behalf. So if your goal is to move the rating you have, the league is the thing to sign up for — open play is where you sharpen the game you bring to it.

It also weights who you played and how close the games were, which is why beating a stronger opponent moves your number more than beating a weaker one.

DUPR looks at score margins and opponent strength, not just wins and losses — a narrow loss to a much stronger pair can leave your rating flat or even nudge it up, while a scrappy win over a much weaker pair can pull it down. Playing people at your own level is what makes the number settle where it should.

That is a genuinely wide band — it covers solid recreational players who can rally and keep score reliably, all the way up to strong 4.0+ competitors. The ladder format means you play people at your own level regardless of where you land in that range.
No. The league is built to be competitive and fun at the same time. A good share of our players are there to earn a reliable rating and see where they really stand, not to chase a tournament podium. If you can keep score, sustain a rally, and want your results to actually count for something, you belong here.
No — you register as an individual and we handle the pairings. It is predominantly a doubles league. If there is someone specific you want to play with, you will overlap and get court time together as long as you are at a similar level.
$75 per player for the full season — 3 nights of 6:00–9:00 PM play on Wednesdays, plus a reserved rain make-up date. That covers all match organisation, on-site management every night, and up to 15 official DUPR matches submitted on your behalf.
The league is capped at 36 players, and the cap is real — once it fills, registration closes rather than being stretched. The registration cards on this page show live spot counts pulled straight from our booking system.
Weather being what it is, the season is built as 3 nights of play with one extra date reserved at the end purely as a rain make-up. If a night gets washed out, play shifts onto that reserved date rather than being cancelled outright. If the weather cooperates all season, the make-up date simply is not needed.
